How Often Do I Need Flip Over My Mattresses?
Most people do not know this but actually need to flip over your mattresses regularly in order to prevent back problems. The back problems can be caused by the slow changing of the shape of the mattress as you lie down on it every night for months on end. When the mattress reaches a certain shape it will not be flat on the surface and can cause you back problems as your muscles will be stretched during sleep. Flipping the mattress over on a regular basis prevents this from happening.
The frequency with which you need to flip the mattress over depends on the type you have. In some cases if you have a really tough and stiff one then no action needs to be taken. However for most of them you will need to flip them about once every 3 months. This should not be a problem for most people as the activity itself takes only 5 minutes to do. However in my experience the main problem is remembering that you need to do this in the first place. If you are the type of person who forgets things quite easily then I suggest you write it all down on a calendar.
A king size mattress will not need to be changed as often because it is larger and two people usually sleep on them. This means that the changing of the shape of the surface you are sleeping on happens so slowly that it almost does not happen at all. King size is also a lot larger so the task itself will be harder.
